NEW! Lawson Safety Training Tracks

Beginning in 2019, supervisors, safety professionals, end-users and executives can attain a new level of achievement by completing a set of courses (Training Tracks) within a 12-month period designed to provide a consistent, comprehensive base of knowledge that demonstrates leadership and a commitment to safety excellence.

Supervisor Lawson & Associates, Inc Training Track

Supervisor Level

This series of courses will enable the participant to perform work at the Competent Person Level after designation from the Employer.

A Competent Person is an individual designated by the Employer to be responsible for the immediate supervision, implementation and monitoring of the Employer’s program, who through training and knowledge, is capable of identifying, evaluating and addressing existing and potential hazards, and who has the Employers authority to take prompt corrective action with regard to such hazards.

To successfully complete the Supervisor Training Track, participants must complete all courses listed below within a 12 month period. Each course will include material and a certificate of completion.

TOTAL COST: $1,299 (plus Hawaii State GET and 5% online ticketing fee).

Upon successful completion of the last course to complete this 50-hour series, the participant will be given a Lawson Certificate of Achievement, Supervisor Training Track.

LAWSON TRAINING TRACK Certificate of Completion - Supervisor

COURSE LIST:

Confined Space Competent Person Level: 8-hour Competent Person level course covers the 29 CDP 1910.146 and 1926.1200 series, ANSI 117.1 (2016) and A10.43 (2016) and EM 385-1-1 Section 34.

Fall Protection Competent Person Level: 24-hour Competent Person level course is presented by a Qualified Fall Protection Trainer (as required by ANSI Z359.2 and ANSI Z490.1) and is based on 29 CFR 1926 Sub Part M, 29 CFR 1910 Sub Part D, EM 385-1-1 Section 21 and ANSI A10.14 and Z359 series.

Safety Leadership: 2-hour (free) course covers the benefits of integrating a Safety Management System into operational work practices. This course emphasizes the attributes of successful organizations and how safety excellence helps the fiscal and production goals of an organization.

Supported & Mobile Scaffolding - Competent Person Level: 8-hour Competent Person level course covers the OSHA 1926 Subpart L Scaffolding Standard, ANSI A10.8 and EM 385-1-1 Section 22.

Respirable Crystalline Silica Competent Person Level: 4-hour course is designed to instruct general industry and construction industry employers, managers, supervisors, safety professionals and competent persons responsible for compliance with OSHA’s Final Rule for Respirable Crystalline Silica (29 CFR 1910.1053 and 29 CFR 1926.1153)

Excavation & Trenching Competent Person Level: 8-hour Competent Person level course covers the OSHA 1926 Subpart P Excavation and Trenching Standard, ANSI A10.12 (R2016) and EM 385-1-1 Section 25. This course emphasizes Best Practices to enable supervision to efficiently plan for and implement safe and productive excavation activities.

Safety Pro Lawson & Associates, Inc Training Track

Safety Professional Level

This series of courses will enable the participant to develop and implement a Safety Management System after authorization from the Employer.

A Safety Professional is a person who makes work site assessments to determine risk, assessing potential hazards and controls, evaluating risk and hazard control measures, investigating incidents, maintaining and evaluating incident and loss records and preparing emergency response plans.

To successfully complete the Safety Professional Training Track, participants must complete all courses listed below within a 12 month period. Each course will include material and a certificate of completion.

TOTAL COST: $1,699 (plus Hawaii State GET and 5% online ticketing fee).

Upon successful completion of the last course to complete this 66-hour series, the participant will be given a Lawson Certificate of Completion, Safety Professional Training Track.

COURSE LIST:

Being a Safety Professional: 2-hour (free) course covers the elements of ANSI Z590.2 Criteria for Establishing the Scope and Functions of the Professional Safety Position; Board of Certified Safety Professionals Code of Ethics and Certifications; and belonging to Professional Safety Organizations.

How to Conduct Site Inspections: 8-hour course covers 1910/1926 requirements; techniques and criteria for completing effective site inspections. This includes documentation, legal aspects, use of technology, communication skills, and corrective action plans.

How to Handle an OSHA Inspection (Professional Level): 8-hour course is a comprehensive review of the OSHA/HIOSH Field Operations Manual; OSHA’s new Drone Policy; the use of technology to assist in the Inspection; Current legal matters affecting OSHA’s conduct of inspections; Managing Notice of Contests.

How to Write Effective Hazard Analysis: 8-hour course will review the ANSI A10.1 Pre-Project and Pre-Task Safety and Health Planning.  

Safety Management System Development: 8-hour course will review the ANSI Z10 (2017) Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

Introduction to Incident Investigation: 8-hour introductory course covers a four-step systems approach to incident investigation. Course topics include preservation and documentation of the scene; collecting information; determining the Root Cause; implementing corrective actions; and documentation.

Recordkeeping (professional level): 8-hour course is a comprehensive review and covers OSHA’s Recordkeeping Rule and updates (29 CFR 1904). Topics include the employer responsibilities for recordkeeping including responsibilities for posting; recording injuries and illnesses; reporting to OSHA/HIOSH; and document retention.

Respiratory Program Administrator (professional level): 8-hour course is a comprehensive review and covers OSHA’s 1910.134 Respiratory Protection Standard for Construction and General Industry. 29 CFR 1910.134©(3) requires that the employer designate a Respiratory Program Administrator to manage the program and evaluate its effectiveness.

Risk Management (professional level): 8-hour

Walk and Teach: 1-hour minimum (optional) is a one-on-one on-site coaching course focused on the implementation of safety leadership practices presented in this Training Track.

End User Lawson & Associates, Inc Training Track

End User Level

This series of courses will enable the participant to perform work at the Authorized Person Level after assignment from the Employer.

An Authorized Person is a person assigned by the Employer to perform duties at a location where the person will be exposed to a hazard.  To successfully complete the End-User Training Track, participants must complete 6 of the 8 courses listed below within a 12 month period. Each course will include material and a certificate of completion.

TOTAL COST: $1,299 (plus Hawaii State GET and 5% online ticketing fee).

Upon successful completion of the last course to complete this 50-hour series, the participant will be given a Lawson Certificate of Completion, End-User Training Track.

COURSE LIST:

Scaffold/Aerial/Scissor Lift: 8-hour course covering 1910/1926 aerial and scissor lift hazards and safe practices; supported scaffold; hazards; corrective actions; proper use and maximum intended load and load-carrying capacities of the scaffold; access; fall protection options.

Confined Space Entrant/Attendant: 8-hour course covering 1910/1926 confined space hazards; safe practices for permit entry; roles and responsibilities; and atmospheric hazards.

Fall Protection Authorized User: 16-hour course covering 1910/1926 personal fall systems; hazards; safe practices and rescue options.

Hazard Communication: 4-hour course covering 1910/1926 Globally Harmonized System (Hazcom 2012), how to read and understand an SDS and labels, and an overview of training requirements.

Respirator Authorized User: 4-hour course covering 1910/1926 requirements for inspection, use, and maintenance of respiratory protection equipment; voluntary use; physical clearance and fit testing.

Safety Tool Use: 4-hour course covering 1910/1926 requirements for hand and power operated tools.

Respirable Crystalline Silica: 2-hour course covering 1910/1926 hazards; and corrective actions per Table 1.

Excavation & Trenching: 4-hour course covering 1926 hazard recognition; safe practices; an overview of protective systems, and access.

Executive Lawson & Associates, Inc Training Track

Executive Level

This series of courses will enable the participant to manage safe work practices at the Senior Management Level after designation from the Employer.

An Executive/Senior Manager is a person with senior management responsibilities within a business organization who has the power to put plans, actions or laws into effect.

To successfully complete the Executive Training Track, participants must complete all courses listed below within a 12 month period. Each course will include material and a certificate of completion.

TOTAL COST: $99 (plus Hawaii State GET and 5% online ticketing fee).

Upon successful completion of the last course to complete this 8-hour series, the participant will be given a Lawson Certificate of Completion, Executive Training Track.
